Central Noble had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 4-9 to make it four. They lost 11-3 to the West Noble Chargers. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 8-4.
Brody Morgan put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Treyton Fletcher was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for West Noble, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Central Noble, West Noble also got a great game from a two-way player: Brooks Ruisard. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Ruisard was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Jordan Eash was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of West Noble's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Mason Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Looking ahead, Central Noble will head out to face off against Woodlan at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for West Noble, they will welcome Wawasee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Chargers are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on an 18-game losing streak.
