Baseball Recap: Ysleta Sets Scoring Season-High Against Sahuaro

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ysleta). Everything went their way against the Sahuaro Cougars on Saturday as the Ysleta Indians made off with an 11-1 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Adry Botello tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ismael Morales, who went 2-for-3 with two triples and three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in triples. Axel Camara also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Ysleta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sahuaro only posted an OBP of .350.

Ysleta's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Sahuaro, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Ysleta will take on Perryton in a tournament on Thursday. As for Sahuaro, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars challenge the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
