The Victoria East Titans entered their tilt with the Victoria West Warriors with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Victoria East enjoyed a cozy 42-24 win over Victoria West on Friday. For Victoria East, this counts as revenge for the 33-23 defeat Victoria West walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victoria East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kason Kolle, who rushed for 68 yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Nijahrell Prater, who rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
When it comes to explaining why Victoria West lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kamauri Montgomery. Despite the final result, he rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns. Montgomery is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Camden Repper, who rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown.
Victoria East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Victoria West, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Victoria East will take on Medina Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Medina Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 761st, while Victoria East is ranked 371st). As for Victoria West, they will square off against Southside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southside is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
