Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salem). Everything went their way against the Patrick Henry Patriots on Friday as they made off with a 15-4 victory. Considering the Spartans have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Salem is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Patrick Henry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

Salem will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Blacksburg at 5:00 p.m. on June 2. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. Patrick Henry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
