WARRENSBURG, Mo. -
Grain Valley (Mo.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 47-6 win over Warrensburg (Mo.).
The Eagles put up 15 points in the opening quarter. Grain Valley scored on a
Kellen Holland touchdown pass to
Evan Velasquez and a touchdown run by
Brice Quinn.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Holland to Velasquez in the first quarter, GV led 27-0 at the half.
The Eagles expanded their lead to 40 points entering the fourth quarter. Grain Valley scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Holland to
Landon Farmer.
Warrensburg's only touchdown came on an 8-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The loss was the third in a row for the Tigers.
Warrensburg (0-3) goes up against Harrisonville in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Grain Valley (2-1) locks horns with Smith-Cotton also in a non-conference game.
