Basketball Recap: Jensen Beach's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Jensen Beach was riding high fresh off their 73-33 takedown of Jupiter last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jensen Beach Falcons fell just short of the Central Cobras by a score of 52-50 on Tuesday. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cobras earlier this season, when they won 65-61.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayla Brinkley, who posted three points in addition to eight boards, five assists, and five steals. That's the most assists Brinkley has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Bell, who scored seven points and 13 rebounds.

Brinkley wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Jensen Beach was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only posted five assists.

Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was LOVELY GABRIEL, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. GABRIEL is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted four or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was SUMMER STONE, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points.

Jensen Beach's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6. As for Central, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-14.

Jensen Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-48 win against Somerset College Prep Academy on the 29th. As for Central, they will head out on the road to take on Vero Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
