While Kennebunk put up plenty of  runs on Tuesday, the same  can't be said for Thornton Academy. The Rams didn't even let the Trojans on the board, marking the Rams' second-straight  11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won eight contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Juliann Pike was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  firing off two  home runs and three  RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most  home runs  she has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  Emma Orendorf was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and two  RBI. Those  two  doubles gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Mia McCarthy, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Kennebunk  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thornton Academy struck out 15 times.
Kennebunk has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Thornton Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
 Coming up, Kennebunk will be playing at home against Scarborough  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Thornton Academy, they will head out to  challenge Noble  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.09  runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
