Doane Academy can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They strolled past Delran with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. The win was just what Doane Academy needed coming off of a 56-34 defeat in their prior game.
It was another big night for Nick Fusco, who scored 20 points along with five assists and two steals. Colin Warman was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Burlington Township came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Burlington City as Burlington Township made off with a 74-49 win. Burlington Township has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Burlington Township's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaron Ferguson, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Ferguson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tj Morrison, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Doane Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Burlington Township, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Doane Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 54.1 points per game. It's a different story for Burlington Township, though, as they've been averaging only 62.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
