4A Region III District 18 recap October 29, 2013
Waller scaled the state rankings by moving to 548 from 589 this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region III District 18. The Bulldogs were able to move up by defeating Huntsville 56-27.
Brenham extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Magnolia, 55-20. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Cubs.
Earnest Patterson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Brenham beat the Bulldogs. Patterson's favorite target this week was James Homan, who caught 5 passes for 82 yards.
Patterson was a beast in the backfield as Glen West's team beat Magnolia.
Cle Tolivar put up the best numbers through the air as Willis defeated Rudder. He finished with 8 completions for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tolivar's favorite target this week was Wyatt Cline, who caught 2 passes for 31 yards.
The Rangers' Brady Batten and Isaiah Johnson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Batten has thrown for 1,244 yards this season, while Johnson has 34 catches for 630 yards. The Cubs' Patterson leads the league in rushing yards with 1,223.
At the moment, the Hornets are in seventh, while Brenham is in first.
The Wildkats were the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in 4A Region III District 18. Willis vanquished Rudder 43-14 earlier in the week.
