This season hasn't been kind to the L.W. Higgins Hurricanes, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They were dealt a 67-34 defeat at the hands of Slidell on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, L.W. Higgins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while Slidell is ranked 105th).
Mike Parlow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Slidell, scoring 24 points. The matchup was Parlow's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Chaney, who scored eight points along with three steals.
L.W. Higgins' loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Slidell, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. L.W. Higgins will take on Abramson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Slidell, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Salmen at 7:10 p.m. on December 15th.
