Softball Recap: Enumclaw Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Win

Enumclaw had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Wednesday. They blew past the Jefferson Raiders 18-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-0 back in March.

Alyssa Harris made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Enumclaw got a massive performance out of Kaylie Plyler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Plyler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nadia Flaherty, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

Enumclaw kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive contests.

Enumclaw's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Jefferson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enumclaw will face off against Federal Way at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Jefferson, they will take on White River at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
