After losing to the Grayslake North Knights the last time they met, the Antioch Sequoits decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Antioch enjoyed a cozy 44-27 win over Grayslake North on Tuesday. Given Antioch's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Grayslake North is ranked 634th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Antioch found their leader in underclassman Heidi Rathmann, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Rathmann's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tess Delao, who scored five points.
Antioch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Grayslake North, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Antioch will head out on the road to face off against Woodstock at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Grayslake North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Round Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
