The Two Rivers Warriors have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to Hill-Murray at home by a decisive 60-43 margin on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Two Rivers of the 60-24 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Two Rivers lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gabi Kirchner. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Kirchner hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Sophia Amundson, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Two Rivers has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Hill-Murray, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.
Two Rivers will head out on the road to square off against Mahtomedi at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mahtomedi knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Two Rivers likes a good challenge. As for Hill-Murray, they will be playing at home against North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
