Kohen Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits.
At the plate, McConnellsburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kade Gress, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Tussey Mountain waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Mountaineers.
Jack Stoudnour made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
In other batting news, Wyatt Clark was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Camden Chilcote also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
McConnellsburg has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Tussey Mountain, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Everything went McConnellsburg's way against Tussey Mountain in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as McConnellsburg made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
