The Marietta Blue Devils have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 61-54 to Harrison on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Marietta of the 61-53 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Marietta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elisa Malone, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Malone has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Frances Storey, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Marietta's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Harrison, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-9.
Marietta will challenge Hillgrove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Marietta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Harrison, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against McEachern at 6:00 a.m. Harrison has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
