Basketball Recap: Community School of Davidson Takes a Loss

Community School of Davidson lost against Pine Lake Prep back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Community School of Davidson Spartans fell to the Pine Lake Prep Pride 66-61. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Pride are ranked 71st).

Despite the loss, Community School of Davidson still got an impressive performance from Dermot Lowry, who went 8 of 15 en route to 25 points and eight boards. Lowry's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Austin Moran, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Community School of Davidson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine Lake Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joseph Bruce, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. Bruce is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games he's played dating back to last season. Jamie Lawson was another key player, putting up 19 points and seven rebounds.

Community School of Davidson now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Pine Lake Prep, their record now sits at 13-4.

Community School of Davidson will host Mountain Island Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Community School of Davidson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. Pine Lake Prep has already played their next game (against Christ the King), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
