This season hasn't been kind to the Columbia Capitals, who are still winless after their 14th game. They had to suffer through a rough 52-14 loss at the hands of Orangeburg-Wilkinson. Columbia was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.
It was another big night for Jenia Haigler, who scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds for Orangeburg-Wilkinson. Haigler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joliyah Robinson, who scored 13 points.
Columbia's loss was their ninth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-14. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.
Columbia will head out on the road to face off against Fairfield Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairfield Central has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Swansea at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Swansea will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Orangeburg-Wilkinson is ranked 59th).
