Mater Academy East Las Vegas is hoping to do what Chaparral couldn't on Friday: put an end to Moapa Valley's winning streak, which now stands at nine games. Moapa Valley breezed by Chaparral to the tune of 54-14. With the Pirates ahead 28-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Moapa Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bekah Jensen out in front who posted ten points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Jensen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Claire Cox, who went 6 of 15 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas found their leader in freshman Amija Macon, who went 13 of 20 on her way to 28 points in addition to ten assists and ten boards. Macon is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aa'Ziah Fraizer, who went 10 of 14 on her way to 20 points in addition to seven steals and six assists.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas' victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.0 points per game. As for Moapa Valley, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Everything came up roses for Moapa Valley against Mater Academy East Las Vegas when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-37 victory. In that game, Moapa Valley amassed a halftime lead of 37-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
