After flying high against the Union Red Hawks last Friday, the Zeeland East Chix came back down to earth. Zeeland East took a hard 50-36 fall against Wyoming on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Zeeland East in their matchups with Wyoming: they've now lost four in a row.
Zeeland East's loss came despite strong showings from Lizzie Risdon and Mirra Fenlon. Risdon dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Fenlon dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Risdon pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Zeeland East has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Wyoming, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
Zeeland East will be playing at home against Zeeland West at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Zeeland West is coming into the contest with four straight wins on the road, meaning Zeeland East will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Wyoming, they will face off against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wyoming is facing Union at the right time seeing as Union is stuck on a 11-game losing streak.
