The Miramar Patriots lost against the Stranahan Mighty Dragons back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Miramar took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stranahan. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Miramar in their matchups with Stranahan: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Skinner, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nehemiah Jean-Charles, who scored 13 points along with four blocks.
Stranahan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Yeargin out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Esron Simeon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Miramar's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Stranahan, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Miramar will be playing in front of their home fans against Cooper City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cooper City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Miramar likes a good challenge. As for Stranahan, they will head out on the road to face off against Boyd Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
