The Upperman Bees will head out to square off against the Livingston Academy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Friday, everything came up roses for Upperman against DeKalb County as the team secured a 41-6 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bees' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Tigers are ranked 178th).

Bronzdon Chaffin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 161 yards and four TDs on perfect 7-for-7 passing, while also rushing for 103 yards and one touchdown. What's more, he racked up 177.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Colton Johnson was in the mix too, providing Upperman with two scores.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Livingston Academy). They breezed past Pickett County to the tune of 69-0 on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Upperman better keep an eye on Kaden Weitzel. He was instrumental in Livingston Academy's win, rushing for 155 yards and three TDs on only six carries. Weitzel really tore up the turf during one magnificent 98-yard run. Logan Sells was another key passer, throwing for 128 yards and three touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Livingston Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Livingston Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Weitzel and Rocco Carwile. Weitzel got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Upperman's record is now 4-2. As for Livingston Academy, their record now sits at 5-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Upperman has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 238.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Livingston Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 163.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Upperman against Livingston Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bees since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
