Volleyball Recap: Mater Academy Charter Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from VALERIA LIRA and Sara Del Castillo

The Mater Academy Charter Lions came up short against the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mater Academy Charter's loss came despite strong showings from Sara Del Castillo and VALERIA LIRA. Del Castillo had seven aces and three digs, while LIRA had seven digs and four aces. Del Castillo is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Mater Academy Charter now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Calvary Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Mater Academy Charter and Calvary Christian Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Lions will square off against rival Miami Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe FAU High at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
