The Fayette Falcons will be home for the holidays to greet the Scotland County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Fayette focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday.
Fayette scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They really took it to Slater for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-28 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Fayette has managed all season.
Fayette got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Oakleigh Hill out in front who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Hill is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Browyn Eubanks, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Scotland County was beaten by Highland 51-19 on Monday. While losing is never fun, Scotland County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Highland is ranked 142nd).
Fayette is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Scotland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Fayette didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Scotland County in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 45-39 win. Will Fayette repeat their success, or does Scotland County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
