Lathrop can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-38 win over the Penney Hornets. The Mules' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Lathrop's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Penney, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lathrop didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-29 defeat against Plattsburg on the 13th. As for Penney, they will be home for the holidays to greet Wellington-Napoleon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wellington-Napoleon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
