Lucas is a perfect 7-0 against Crestline since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cubs will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Lucas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Lucas barely beat Colonel Crawford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cubs blew past the Eagles 15-3 on Thursday. The Cubs have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Anthony Fanello made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lucas got a massive performance out of Atticus Hall, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Rayden Caudill was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Lucas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Crestline's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mansfield Senior on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Tygers: they've now lost six in a row.
Crestline's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Lucas, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lucas has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Crestline struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lucas took their victory against Crestline in their previous meeting on April 9th by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Cubs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
