LEAGUE CITY, Texas -
Clear Springs (League City, Texas) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Zach Cripps threw a touchdown to
Devin Milburn with under a minute left, bringing the team to victory over
Clear Creek (League City, Texas) 62-61.
After nabbing the lead on a touchdown, the Wildcats went into halftime with a 27-13 lead. The Chargers took the lead to win the game on a Cripps touchdown pass to Milburn in the fifth quarter.
Despite scoring 21 points in the third, Clear Springs still trailed by seven points going into the fourth quarter. But eight points in the fourth helped CS pull out the victory.
The Chargers were able to dig itself out of a 21-point hole en route to the upset of Clear Creek.
The loss comes after Clear Creek defeated Brazoswood 38-27 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for Clear Springs, which was coming off a 35-7 defeat at the hands of Dickinson in its previous game.
