The South San Francisco Warriors will challenge the Castilleja Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in South San Francisco's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Castilleja has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
On Friday, South San Francisco made easy work of Jefferson and carried off a 16-1 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Kadence Yip made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madyson Jade Quintanilla, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Shiloh Semans was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.
South San Francisco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Castilleja couldn't beat El Camino on Friday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the sixth inning. The Gators fell just short of the Colts by a score of 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Gators have lost by just one run.
Katherine Cheng was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Katrina Huang, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
South San Francisco has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Castilleja, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
South San Francisco couldn't quite finish off Castilleja in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 17-15. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
