The Blackstone-Millville Chargers were the 25-23 winner over the Whitinsville Christian Crusaders when they last played one another on January 3rd, but their luck changed this time around. Blackstone-Millville took a 33-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Whitinsville Christian on Friday.
Blackstone-Millville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marren Berry, who scored 11 points. Grace Buzzell was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Blackstone-Millville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Whitinsville Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Blackstone-Millville will be playing in front of their home fans against Southbridge at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Southbridge is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Whitinsville Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Douglas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
