Carver is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Franklin County Tech is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Carver Crusaders will take on the Franklin County Tech Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Carver's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
Carver can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Mashpee 40-16.
Tyler Lennox got back to being his usual excellent self, as he threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Derek Lopes, who picked up 162 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Franklin County Tech put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Mahar Regional 46-0 on the road. The win was just what Franklin County Tech needed coming off of a 20-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
Franklin County Tech's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Josiah Little, who rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and Gabriel Tomasi, who rushed for 65 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Tomasi was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Hunter Donahue made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Carver's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Franklin County Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Carver has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 155.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Franklin County Tech struggles in that department as they've been even better at 192.5 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
