Basketball Recap: Whitewater Takes a Loss

Whitewater played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Monona Grove Silver Eagles, falling 75-51. The Whippets have struggled against the Silver Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Whitewater lost, don't look at Casey Lyon. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-13 from beyond the arc on his way to 33 points. The contest was Lyon's third in a row with at least 33 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Carollo, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Whitewater's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Monona Grove, the victory also got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitewater will square off against Lincoln Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monona Grove, they will challenge Baraboo at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
