 On Connersville's side,  Kolton DeBoard made a big impact no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. DeBoard was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Brody Shearer was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI.  Parker Flanigan was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 Franklin County now  has a losing record at 2-3. As for Connersville, their win was  their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-1.
 Franklin County will be staying on the road  on Saturday to face off against Union County at 11:00  a.m. Union County is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 9.2  runs per game  this season. As for Connersville, they will head out on the road to  take on  Lawrence Central at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
