Two dominant signal callers in Chase Richardson and Jevarion Glover are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Winona Tigers are on the road again on Friday and play against the Amanda Elzy Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Winona knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matches -- so hopefully Amanda Elzy likes a good challenge.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Winona had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Wolverines as they made off with a 49-26 win. Considering Winona has won 11 matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Winona's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Zaishun Nash, who rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and Richardson, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Meanwhile, Amanda Elzy put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Mooreville for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-2 win on the road. The win was nothing new for Amanda Elzy as they're now sitting on three straight.
Amanda Elzy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Martize Lott, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and Glover, who threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes.
Winona's win bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Amanda Elzy, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Winona against Amanda Elzy in their previous matchup back in October as the squad secured a 38-6 victory. Does Winona have another victory up their sleeve, or will Amanda Elzy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
