Dover has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Lamar Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dover posted their biggest victory since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 57-36 margin over Maumelle Charter. Given Dover's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Maumelle Charter is ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Logan Young continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Dover's points. Kenzie Mccrotty was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Meanwhile, Lamar had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four two weeks ago. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 61-34 victory over Maumelle Charter.
Dover's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Lamar, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
Dover came up short against Lamar in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 73-62. Can Dover avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
