Hackley won the last time they faced Dalton and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Hornets have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Andrea Hegarty made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jaiya Patel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Aria Servedio was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Hackley's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Dalton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
