The Western Reserve Academy Pioneers were the 92-63 winner over the Cornerstone Christian Patriots when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Western Reserve Academy fell 76-63 to Cornerstone Christian on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cornerstone Christian was led to victory by Owen Pugh and Quinn Kwasniak. Pugh scored 20 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds, while Kwasniak dropped a double-double on 34 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Kwasniak's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Asaiah West was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds.
Western Reserve Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cornerstone Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Reserve Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Perkiomen School on January 27th. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Medina Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Medina Christian Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
