The Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Minor Tigers proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 66-59 win over the Blue Devils. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Minor to victory were Jaylen Chatman and Isaiah Mcclain. Chatman scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, while Mcclain dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Grice, who scored 16 points.
Minor has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Mortimer Jordan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minor will take on Homewood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
