The Bishop Kelley Comets waltzed into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 38-27 victory over Grove. Given Bishop Kelley's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Grove is ranked 77th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop Kelley's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.6 points per game. As for Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Bishop Kelley will be playing in front of their home fans against McAlester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
