Long Beach Poly hasn't had much luck against Millikan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jackrabbits will face off against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Long Beach Poly will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Cabrillo on Monday. The Jackrabbits put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 21-1 victory.

Bella Correa was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Long Beach Poly got a massive performance out of Emoni Lam Sam, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and two doubles while going 4-for-5. That's the most RBI Lam Sam has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Alayna Veavealagi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Long Beach Poly lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Millikan had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. Give the Rams' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Mia Meza made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meza was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lexy Everrett was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Bartz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Long Beach Poly's record is now 8-1. As for Millikan, their record now sits at 13-4.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Long Beach Poly hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .500. However, it's not like Millikan struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Long Beach Poly came up short against Millikan when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 8-3. Can the Jackrabbits avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
