If the Libby Loggers were feeling good off their 60-34 takedown of the Stevensville Yellowjackets last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Libby took a hard 55-39 fall against Lincoln County on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Libby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Lincoln County is ranked 11th).
Lincoln County can attribute much of their success to Braden Casazza, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Casazza has scored at least 25% of Lincoln County's points. Parker Bates was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Libby now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Lincoln County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Libby will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Polson at 6:00 p.m. on January 13, 2024. Lincoln County will be home for the holidays to greet Whitefish at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
