The St. John Paul II Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Fairhaven Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. John Paul II is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
St. John Paul II's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Martha's Vineyard Regional as they made off with a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 11 games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Henry Roy and Tyler Ross were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Roy tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ross didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Roy has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Roy went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Ross went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Those four stolen bases gave Our a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Fairhaven has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 14-2 to Seekonk. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Devils have suffered against the Warriors since May 2, 2022.
St. John Paul II's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Fairhaven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.
St. John Paul II was able to grind out a solid win over Fairhaven when the teams last played back in April, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
