This season hasn't been kind to the Geibel Catholic Gators, who are still winless after their eighth match. They had to suffer through a rough 81-29 loss at the hands of Clairton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Geibel Catholic has scored all season.
Geibel Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gary Tarbuk, who scored 13 points, and Tommy Kolencik who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Kolencik is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.
Clairton found their leader in underclassman Taris Wooding, who scored 19 points. The game was Wooding's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Ruffin, who scored ten points.
Geibel Catholic bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clairton, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Geibel Catholic will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Keystone Oaks at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th. Clairton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Elizabeth Forward on December 29th. Elizabeth Forward will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
