Mountainside came out on top against Westview on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Mavericks were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Mountainside got a massive performance out of Tenley Jukkula, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Olivia Patterson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Jesuit has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mountainside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
