Softball Recap: Spotsylvania Has No Trouble Against Culpeper County

Spotsylvania barely beat Culpeper County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Blue Devils on Friday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Spotsylvania has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Culpeper County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spotsylvania will take on Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Culpeper County, they will venture away from home to challenge Courtland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
