John Paul II Catholic hasn't had much luck against Lawrence Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The John Paul II Catholic Saints will venture away from home to face off against the Lawrence Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
John Paul II Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 16-11 win over North Raleigh Christian Academy.

The team relied heavily on Alana Albritton, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Bailey Tyndall was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
John Paul II Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Academy hadn't done well against Camden County recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Lawrence Academy walked away with an 11-7 victory over Camden County. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Clair Ferebee was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over eight innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5.
In other batting news, Caroline Halstead was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Camy Pippins, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
The win got Lawrence Academy back to even at 2-2. As for John Paul II Catholic, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

It's a different story for Lawrence Academy, though, as they've only averaged .236. Will they be able to contain John Paul II Catholic's hitters?
