The Montgomery County Indians will take on the Madison Southern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Montgomery County will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Montgomery County was able to grind out a solid victory over Mason County, taking the game 12-7.
Brody Roland made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Taj Jones looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Jaimen Caba was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jayse Mays, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Montgomery County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Madison Southern's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Henry Clay by a score of 2-1.
Montgomery County pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Madison Southern, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Montgomery County beat Madison Southern 4-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
