ANADARKO, Okla. - After four lead changes,
Anadarko (Okla.) took the lead for the win when
RJ Sink ran for a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Woodward (Okla.) 18-15 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown, the Boomers went into halftime with a 7-6 lead. The Warriors took the lead to win the game on a touchdown run by Sink in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring six points in the third, Anadarko still trailed by five points going into the fourth quarter. But six points in the fourth helped AHS pull out the victory.
The Warriors had given up an average of 8.2 points prior to the contest.
A 35-0 Anadarko victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Woodward defeated Elgin 35-0 last week.
Anadarko (7-0) goes up against Piedmont in a 4A District 1 game matchup next week, while Woodward (5-2) locks horns with Cache also in a 4A District 1 game.
