Maya Jacobsen was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Bella Waters made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Addison Henninger was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Woods Cross came up short against Bountiful on Tuesday, falling 9-3.

Skyline's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Woods Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Woods Cross' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Skyline has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Woods Cross, though, as they've been averaging 10.1 hits. Given Skyline's sizable advantage in that area, the Wildcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
Skyline beat Woods Cross 17-12 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
