Even though the Temple Christian Crusaders have not done well against the Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Temple Christian was the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over Westover Christian Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Temple Christian.
Silas Walker was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. He hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Winston Jackson, who scored 12 points.
Westover Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cam Shelton, who scored 17 points. Shelton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hill, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Temple Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Westover Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Temple Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westover Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Dayspring Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Dayspring Christian Academy is ranked 336th, while Westover Christian Academy is ranked 352nd).
