If the Catholic Central Crusaders were riding high off their 61-41 takedown of the Edison Wildcats last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Catholic Central was outmatched by the Redskins at home and fell 64-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Catholic Central has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Catholic Central still got an impressive performance from Anna Arai, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Arai is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Rohde, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
It was another big night for Kylie Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds for Indian Creek. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was McKenna Scott, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Indian Creek, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
Catholic Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Indian Creek's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Big Reds at 5:15 p.m. on January 20th. Bellaire is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
