The North Harrison Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 43-27 bruising from Corydon Central. North Harrison has not had much luck with Corydon Central recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Grace Goldman and Olivia Brown certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Goldman scored ten points along with eight rebounds, while Brown scored eight points.
Corydon Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josie Vaughn, who scored 13 points. Alyssa Groover was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
North Harrison has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Corydon Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Harrison will take on Evansville Memorial at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Evansville Memorial presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Harrison in Indiana (Evansville Memorial is ranked 22nd, while North Harrison is ranked 217th). As for Corydon Central, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Floyd Central at 2:30 p.m.
